Paintings of the grandchildren

Based on photos of Caitlin, Leilani and Selene, I painted some portraits of them on the computer using Artrage.  I present them here for those who may be interested.

A new phone

Yesterday I received my new phone, an HTC Wildfire S, which is an Android based smartphone.  I’m already really pleased with it – not only can I send and receive e-mails and Tweets, I can post to my blog like this.  It doesn’t have the ease of a computer or even the iPad, but it’s pretty cool.  I’ve also found Evernote for it, which allows me to synchronize my notes between all my devices.  I may even use it as a phone, too.

Back from Holiday

June and I have been away for a week on a cruise holiday to the Norwegian Fjords, which were pretty spectacular.  Although the cruise was only for 7 nights, we seemed to pack a lot in, both on board ship and in the excursions we went on.  And even though there was tons of food to eat, I only put on five pounds.  I expected much more.

I took my iPad with me, not to do any work or answer e-mails, but to use as a sketch pad when the inspiration took me.  I managed a handful of “paintings” using the Artrage app and thought I’d share one of them with you now (the others still need a bit of work).

Cruise North Sea

Our first full day of the cruise was a day at sea travelling north through the North Sea, which was surprisingly calm with clear skies and bright sunshine.  While relaxing on deck I painted the view above.  🙂
